  -Our 60th Birthday Bash event was a huge success, netting our Capital Campaign over $10,000 in donations (including over $3,500 from the silent auction alone!) -Our project is progressing well with the Town of Carrboro. They are very excited about it, and we are now in our third round of feedback and comments from town departments with some departments being final. Once this process is complete we expect to receive our Conditional Use Permit and be able to break ground shortly thereafter. -Groundbreaking on our new facility is presently anticipated to occur sometime during the summer of 2012. We'll make sure to make an announcement regarding the exact date several weeks in advance so people can have time to prepare for that event. -Upcoming Events at the CHAPEL HILL PLAZA store: BAG DAYS: Thursday, March 1st through Saturday, March 3rd RESTOCK: Monday, March 5th (at 8:30am sharp!) -Upcoming Events at the CARRBORO store: BAG DAYS: Thursday, March 15th through Saturday, March 17th RESTOCK: Monday, March 19th (at 8:30am sharp!) -Finally, a great big "thank you" to Smith Middle School for supporting the PTA Thrift Shop through their recent "Cyclone Games" fundraiser. They raised over $1,000 for our Capital Campaign with their effort! -Lease space status: On 11/3/11, the Chapel Hill Carrboro City School Board unanimously approved the lease agreement for approximately 8000 sqft of the PTA Thrift Shop commercial space. The space will be provide the district with Pre-K and Head Start administrative offices, as well as professional development space. We are continuing our due diligence on several organizations which have expressed serious interest in our additional 5000 sqft and will have updates soon. -Store operation status: Our Carrboro store continues to operate as normal. -Town application process status: We are currently in the process of applying for our Conditional Use Permit | ||
