For the past three years the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission has sponsored a community art project called "The Community Art Project." A committee of volunteers has been convened each year to create a theme. The first year the theme was “Self Portrait”, last year’s theme was “Dream” and this year’s theme is “Lost and Found.” A call is put out to the community via various media outlets, to create art surrounding the theme and VOILA!!! our community creates art!

Participation in this wonderful project has been great! The past two years has produced over 600 pieces of art for the community to enjoy at a variety of venues throughout our community. Last year was the first year that the Village Plaza Thrift Shop was chosen as one of the venues. We are happy to report that this year we were chosen again!
